Toner
When you are looking for copier supplies in general and copier toner in particular you will find more types of toner than you can shake a stick at and it can be confusing. Rest assured that you should be able to find the specific one that you need. You can find some very generic brands of toner, although you will also find that most manufacturers make toners that are compatible with every copier model that they make; for example Hewlett Packard (HP) or Xerox compatible toners. You might find that these toners will work in other copier models; however, the best advice is to use the specific manufacturer’s toner in their make of copier.
You can bet that electric components have advanced as much as, if not faster than, technology will allow. In fact copier toners have also advanced in form and functionality, to the point of being manufacturer specific, and that they are now available as laser toners. If this does not make sense, don’t feel bad. Sometimes even the most technology-minded person will not understand something that they read or see. When you use laser toner you will find that you are getting a much sharper, clearer and darker text; and you can add an economical element to this equation with the fact that laser toners last longer that other toners. This will save you money in the long run, as you will not have to buy it as often.
There are many different factors to think about when buying toner, such as whether or not you are going to need plain or laser toner… do you need HP or Xerox toners? There is one other thing you need to keep in mind; if you have and use an HP copier then you really need to buy and use only HP compatible toners.
With all of the different makes of copiers and all of the corresponding toners that go with them, it can give you a major headache! I’ll bet that you might not know that copier toner comes in both color and black. It does not matter whether you are using laser or traditional toner, it is the same. There is yet another, very important item to consider when you are choosing; and this is the yield factor of the toner that you are looking at. Simply put, the yield factor refers to the average number of pages that the cartridge of toner is capable of producing. If you do some research you are bound to find that most, if not all, of the market, such as Xerox and HP compatible toners, have a high yield factor. All of this simply means one thing; that this is a very smart business investment!
